There’s Levels To This

Welp. I forgot to write three posts last month, so now I have to do four this month. If I end this post here, does it count?

I kid. I am actually following up on my last post about slowing down and taking a moment when needed. To say the least, I could’ve done better with it since we last touched base.

I spoke to my therapist today about it. I thought about how to better implement my own advice. The smaller breaks throughout my day are certainly necessary. Those periods will allow me to get back on track. Taking a moment just to reorganize and reflect. Helping myself to regain my composure and not feel so scattered.

On a slightly larger scale, I also expressed frustration about not getting bigger tasks done. This included paperwork, business odds and ends, and household tasks. I’ve literally had pieces of furniture needing to be built since Christmas. Spring lurks around the corner.

So, instead of focusing on just my daily routine, the focus also encompasses my weekly and maybe even monthly calendars. This means building in a few hours every few days and a day off periodically. This would give me the opportunity to catch up on a few things that get out to the wayside each day or week. Ultimately, I’d feel like I’m staying on top of my responsibilities and not falling so far behind. Especially since I’ve struggled with feeling unproductive with these bigger tasks.

Sometimes, we need to expand our definitions. This could mean taking it to the next level.
